Project background

At the end of 2017, Xiong'an new area urgently needs to build a local data center to meet the urgent needs of the administrative office of the Management Committee of the new area and the online business of some Internet enterprises (ALI). According to the technical innovation requirements of high standards and high quality in the construction and management of the new area, the three major local operators have provided solutions for the owner (Xiong'an investment). Finally, the "micro module +DPS" scheme designed by the company for Hebei Telecom Hebei Xiong'an branch won the favor of the owner, helping China Telecom win the first IDC room construction project in Xiong'an new area.

System Scheme:“Speed Determines Results”

According to the needs of customers, the design adopts the scheme of security micro module combined with ordinary micro module; the power supply system adopts distributed HVDC equipment, with small volume and high efficiency. In addition to the server equipment room and duty monitoring room, there is no independent power distribution room in the whole scheme, which greatly saves the room area.

After the expansion of Xiong'an Telecom's temporary data center, it mainly undertakes the tasks of social security, public opinion management and so on. Therefore, the data center expansion project refers to the construction of high-level standards, strengthens the key infrastructure indicators around business needs, and makes clear requirements for PUE energy-saving indicators.

Near the Spring Festival of 2020, the construction professionals and construction teams have holidays one after another, and the personnel have gradually embarked on the road of returning home. But the user business suddenly put forward the requirement of emergency online, which needs to be implemented in advance; and the construction period has also been compressed to the extreme - four sets of micro modules (88 IT cabinets) in three days. At this time, according to the original implementation plan, most of the goods have not yet arrived at the construction site. This poses great challenges to the logistics coordination ability, the driving ability of cooperative manufacturers, the production scheduling level, the flexibility of the scheme and the engineering implementation ability of MINDSEC.

Advantages of the scheme

1) Greatly shorten the construction period. The construction period required by the customer is 45 days, and the total time of this project is 26 days, which makes the customer's business online ahead of time.

2) It reduces the standard of selecting computer room building. The scheme of "micro module + DPS" makes common civil buildings can be transformed into data rooms. The computer room building selected for this project is the workshop of a local ordinary factory.

3) The utilization rate of computer room is greatly improved. The equipment room of this project covers a total area of about 240M², in which a micro module is reserved, saving nearly 80M² of batteries and distribution room, which can be used for subsequent expansion of equipment room.

4) Step by step construction and deployment on demand. In the future, the reserved room of 2000M² can be gradually deployed on demand according to the business growth of customers, which protects the initial investment efficiency of customers. A new round of construction has been started in 2019, with a scale of 400 racks.

5) Green energy conservation and environmental protection. The project adopts closed cold channel and high-efficiency inter train air conditioning, which makes the PUE value of the machine room far less than 1.5, realizes green energy conservation and environmental protection, and meets the needs of green environmental protection and high-efficiency energy conservation in the construction of the new area.
